Business Manager - Engineering Training 2000 is a charitable trust set up by a consortium of Lancashire businesses and is now one of the largest Group Training Associations in England, with over 50 years' experience of delivering high quality work-based learning and training programmes to industry and individuals, working with national employers across a wide range of sectors, whilst maintaining local support. We are now also working in partnership with Uclan giving an opportunity to offer up to degree level. A challenging and exciting vacancy has arisen for a Business Manager - Engineering within the Operations Department. About the Role Effectively managing the delivery of apprenticeships and full time courses, whilst developing customer responsive courses and projects are essential to the success of the role. You will be able to bring together strong and dynamic leadership of the Engineering team whilst also ensuring that we transition the Engineering department into the future opportunities and growth areas in line with our Horizon plan objectives. This position will involve significant business development activity and requires a good knowledge and experience of the Engineering sector at all levels including higher level skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for all of the strategic and operational running elements of the Engineering department. Essential Requirements - Highly effective communication and customer focused skills for relationship building. - Thorough understanding of workforce development programmes, including apprenticeship frameworks and ideally the new standards. - Strong leadership skills in the performance management and development of staff alongside a comprehensive understanding and experience of the Engineering sector and its strategic issues. - The post will involve travel, therefore a current full driving licence is essential.
