LMS Application Specialist - £45,000 - Bristol The UK's leading engineering support service are looking for a skilled Application Specialist to join their growing team. This is a great chance to secure a role working for a FTSE100 employer that offers a supporting environment and excellent visibility to a wider business. The main purpose of the role is to support the Learning Management System (LMS) application within the Skills and Learning Business Unit throughout the application life-cycle. This will include maintaining, supporting and upgrading the application. The role will include; - Managing transition of applications into the production environment. Ensure all changes are tested, documented and version controlled - Working with the Central IT function for the creation and management of the Application Development environments and libraries - Supporting the management and delivery of applications and configuration of the relevant installations to ensure continuous service - Responsibility for process and procedures to ensure document configuration management, modification management, build management, version controls, and gate review documentation are adhered to. - Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for applications. Resolution of issues to a permanent fix - Implementation of minor changes and new interfaces The successful candidate will need; - Good working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server - Good working knowledge of integration tools i.e. SSIS and reporting tools i.e. SSRS - Worked in a challenging and complex organisation and demonstrable experience of leading business and technical change - Experience of Release Management utilising Development, UAT and production environments - Experience of supporting Apache/Tomcat is desirable - Experience of supporting Learning Management Systems is desirable - Experience of implementing Application Life-cycle Management framework and policy - Ability to deal with and manage conflict whilst building successful business relationships across a range of stakeholder groups - Resolution of technical application issues and problems with the operational teams - Experience of working through problems and issues to meet agreed SLAs - Managing the resolution queue of IT software application issues and problems through a Service Desk platform My client is offering an attractive £45,000 salary plus additional benefits.
