***NEW OPPORTUNITY*** Oracle/ SQL Server DBA Nottingham- up to £36k depending on experience A public sector IT Team are looking for a 3rd line Server Database Analyst to join their team of database analysts. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a fast expanding company in Central Nottingham. You'd be providing specialist level Oracle and SQL database administration support to core corporate application systems to ensure they operate efficiently. Duties will include: - Communicating with customers in a professional capacity at product specialist level providing 3rd level support and technical input to business solutions and options appraisals in a supportive and positive manner both verbally and in writing. - Responsible for improvement and maintenance of multiple databases to include rollout and upgrades, Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and costs. - To Support the IT implementation and development teams to ensure high availability of the databases, Perform Oracle installations, perform monitoring and tuning and capacity planning, familiar with Data Base Performance Optimisation especially like RMAN using appropriate Storage Solutions. - Be innovative in developing and recommending service and process improvements to ensure that service level agreement targets are met and exceeded and that the most economic, efficient and effective service is provided for the Council. - Responsible for Oracle and SQL DBA activities like Oracle and SQL database cloning etc, ensuring that business continuity options are adhered to, tested and databases replicated at DR sites by adhering to policies and procedures. - Provide information and advice to service users in relation to legislative changes, systems upgrades and patch releases. Ensuring effective communication and planning to ensure high availability is maintained. In addition monitoring of application faults, identifying trends and report issues to team leader.
