Our client a first tier automotive supplier are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis. Main Assignment: As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, dismantling and maintaining production equipment. Carrying out upgrades, improvements and modifications in accordance with company and legal requirements. Job description The main tasks are, but are not limited to; - Understand and work in accordance with company and UK Mandatory requirements for H.S & E - Understand and work in accordance with company Quality requirements. - Perform effective diagnosis of breakdowns and timely repair of equipment to maximise availability - Perform scheduled planned maintenance in accordance with company requirements in order to minimise unplanned downtime - Record and document all work carried out on all equipment on both paper and electronic systems as is required - Provide effective verbal reports to Team Members as is required and when required, to escalate issues in accordance with company procedure - Analysis of issues to root cause and development of countermeasures, improvement actions and/or suggestions to improve. - To work as a member of a project team when required - Liaise with Production and Quality departments to ensure highest level of build quality is achieved after any intervention and throughout the working life of equipment - Identifying spare parts, tools or materials requirements, providing the necessary technical specification and for the control and recording of parts taken from stores - To understand and maintain company standards for tidiness and organisation in line with good 5S practice. Person Specification - Logical problem solver with excellent fault-finding abilities. - Effective Communicator, able to report across all levels. - Have robotics/automation experience and be able to demonstrate knowledge, KUKA & Siemens desirable. - Have demonstrated experience of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, lath/milling experience is desirable - Have experience on high-speed production equipment, preferably in an automotive environment. - Have a working knowledge of spot/MIG/TIG welding processes - Have knowledge of lean manufacturing. - Time-served.
