Junior Javascript Developers / Web Developers / Front End Developers / Full Stack Developers Javascript, JQuery, HTML5, CSS3, NodeJS, Angular, React, Docker, DevOps Talented Javascript Developers are required to join an exciting new start up that provides organisations and individuals with a trusted platform built on security, convenience and control for Personal Information Management, or life data. The rapidly expanding data privacy market is forecast to grow exponentially over the coming years and the services offered to both organisations and individuals meet both consumer trends and on-going Government aspirations. This new venture is driven by a highly experienced board of Directors with a strong track record of entrepreneurial success building successful tech and data companies. The new platform helps you unlock the potential and value of this data, whether this is by delivering informed insights from informed consent to support better life decisions or simply manage all personal data in one safe place. This is achieved by using a highly trusted, secure technology platform which stores, protects and analyses data and is usually via a mobile or web-based application which helps manage the collection, analysis and presentation of information. Powerful analytics capabilities also mean that they can ingest large amounts of complex data and do something meaningful with it, for both organisations and their consenting members. The role: We are now seeking a Junior Developers with a keen interest in software development within a commercial environment. This is a great opportunity to work in a high performing agile based development team working with leading edge web technologies including the very latest javascript frameworks (NodeJS, Angular, React), Microservices architectures and the latest DevOps / Continuous Integration and deployment technologies and approaches (Docker, Ansible, Puppet, Chef). You will be a self-starter, quick learner and someone who likes challenges. You will be a team player that is able to be part of and mentor a team who demonstrates a real passion for pushing web software to the limit. Responsibilities: - Contributing code changes to our core platform as part of an agile development team - Adhering to company software standards - Active participation in the company's agile processes - Automated integration and unit testing - Software delivery via a continuous delivery pipeline in a devOps orientated environment - Adhering to company security standards Experience and Knowledge Required: Ideally you will be degree educated in a degree with significant IT content with some commercial development experience with Javascript, HTML5 & CSS3 or equivalent commercial experience. Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas: - JavaScript Object Oriented Programming including knowledge of Design Patterns & anti -patterns. - Node - Angular - Experience of JavaScript Module design (AMD / RequireJS / CommonJs or ECMAScript 6). - Developing cross browser / cross device implementation of Single Page Application architecture. - Use of Version Control in a commercial environment (Git / SVN / Mercurial). - CSS Framework experience (Bootstrap or similar). - Genuine enthusiasm for coding and the development process. - Agile / Scrum in a commercial environment. - Javascript frameworks including JQuery, Knockout & D3 - DevOps - Docker, ansible, Jenkins, Chef, puppet - Open stack - Source code control - Test driven development Additional Info The concepts and tools are all new, so you must be able to grasp new concepts quickly and work with software, for which reading source code and Internet investigation is the norm rather than being able simply to read books and go on courses. Good interpersonal skills are required to build relationships and trust with open source development communities, in order to find answers to problems and gain support, which has to be reciprocal.
