Mechanical Design Engineer Buckinghamshire £30-34k + Benefits such as 25 Days holiday, Life Assurance, Pension A degree-qualified Mechanical Design Engineer, with a minimum of three years in-role experience, is required to join a world class multi-disciplinary team of engineers, who develop advanced professional audio products. You will be proficient in a 3D CAD package, with Pro/Engineer Wildfire or Creo Parametric being the ideal. With supervision from the Mechanical Design Manager, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of loudspeakers, lifting hardware and electro-mechanical assemblies. This will involve CNC woodworking, sheet metal, extrusions, vac forming, pressed metal parts and injection moulding. You may be required to attend concerts or installations in venues around the world, in order to gain experience of the use cases of our products. You may on occasion be asked to perform other related duties, for which your cooperation would be expected. You will be supervised by the Mechanical Design Manager and also work with the project Lead Engineer and Project Manager in order to identify and complete tasks in a timely manner. You will be expected to interface on a daily basis with members of the R&D team, in order to collaborate on product development and to share ideas. You will also interface with the Operations department, the Marketing department and the Sales department. Additionally you may be expected to interface with suppliers, in order to define the product or service required of them. On occasion you will also be required to interface with customers, sometimes when unaccompanied and will be expected to act in a professional manner and in the company's best interests. Specific Job Skills: You need to be proficient in a 3D CAD package such as Pro/Engineer Wildfire or Creo, and able to construct detailed 3D solid models of products and produce 2D drawings of component parts. Constructing prototypes using basic machine tools will also fall under your remit. You will need to be able bodied and lift items in accordance with H&S regulations. You will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design and have some industry experience in a relevant position. The R&D department is fast paced and you will need to enjoy the challenge of working in such an environment.
