Learning Support Assistants Start Date: As soon as possible Salary: £4,993 - £10,992 pa Contract: 32 weeks per year We have positions available from 16 to 35 hours per week. Please indicate on your application your preferred hours per week. Required to provide direct support for learning to individual learners, over and above that which is normally provided. Some of the tasks will include: 1. To support identified named students in a class environment using a range of learning support strategies, together with own knowledge of each learner's needs and preferences, to select and adapt tasks, resources and learning activities so as to engage and motivate learners. 2. Communicate effectively with learners in order to enable them to understand and participate in learning activities. 3. Use appropriate support strategies for working with groups and/or with individual learners to maximise learning opportunities. 4. Support the development of learners' language, literacy and numeracy skills. 5. Support learners to make best use of provision by encouraging them to meet course and/or organisational requirements in terms of, for example, punctuality, attendance and behaviour. 6. Support learners in managing change and transition, for example at the start and end of a programme of learning. It is essential that you have a minimum of Level 2 in Maths and English together with an understanding, appreciation and experience of Specific Learning Differences, disabilities and/or sensory impairment and the most appropriate learning support methods Learning Support. A Learning Support or any relevant qualification at minimum Level 2 would also be desirable. For more information, please refer to the job description.
