My client is an established and well known construction business based in York. They have a fantastic reputation in their field locally, and are well known as a brand within their sector. Due to an increase in workload and a restructure within the team, they are now looking to recruit for a Finance Analyst to work in one of their key divisions on a 6 month contract. This is a great opportunity for someone based locally, who is able to commit to a full 6 month contract with a great business who offer some excellent benefits (including a 12.30pm finish on Fridays). Key duties of the role will include: - Provide support to the Management team within the Division, analysing and interpreting the accounts and ensuring there is full understanding of the financial implications of decisions and issues affecting their business area - To acquire and display a good understanding of the business and to provide management information to support the Division. - To assist with ensuring that the Division complies with all accounting policies of the business and make certain that accounting issues specific to the Division are properly recognised and resolved. - To assist with ensuring that the systems of control and reporting provide relevant, timely and accurate management information and be involved in cross company initiatives where required. - To assist in influencing decisions affecting the cash flow and profitability of the business. - To assist in the preparation of monthly Management Accounts to strict deadlines, helping to ensure that all Balance Sheet Accounts are reconciled each month. - To assist in the preparation of monthly profit and cash flow forecasts. - To aid the annual budget process for the Division ensuring reports are completed and deadlines met and a thorough budget is prepared. - To assist in the preparation of annual statutory financial accounts and support the annual audit process where necessary. - To provide support and assistance to the Finance Manager as required. - In addition to the above employees are required to carry out any reasonable request to perform other duties as may be required within the scope of the job role. The successful candidate will: - Have experience of month end accounts - Essential - Have previous experience of analysing large data sets - Essential - Have a good knowledge of MS Excel (v look-ups and pivot tables) - Essential - Have previous experience of SAP - Desirable The company can offer: - On site parking - Plush offices - 12.30pm finish on a Friday (36 hour week) - Immediate start
