Our client, a market leader in the utilities industry, are looking to recruit a Financial Analyst on a temporary basis for 3 months. As a Financial Analyst, you will provide support to management and production managers across the business, communicating with them regarding key areas of their costs and then using this information to ensure LBE forecasts are accurate and up to date and assisting them at budget time to prepare their budget submission. As part of the month end process, you will be responsible for the production of your area's management reports including variance analysis against budgeted and forecasted values, preparing / approving journals and accruals and preparation of control accounts. Job Accountabilities - Work closely with production managers, to ensure accurate and timely LBE forecasts to support the delivery of the Business Plan - Production of the monthly management reports including variance analysis and commentary - Preparation of detailed analysis targeting key areas of cost to support the business with cost control - Production of accruals and journals in line with ICM guidelines. - Preparation of control accounts in line with ICM guideline - Preparation of the budget and business plans - Adherence to month end deadlines - Ad-hoc activities as and when required relating to the main accountabilities of the role - Assist Lead Management Accountant with year-end reporting and regulatory reporting processes Knowledge and Skills - Studying towards a professional accountancy qualification - AAT part qualified (or) CIMA (or) studying ACCA (or) studying ACA - Keen attention to detail and high standards of accuracy - Strong Excel skills and good financial modelling skills - Self-motivator, with an enquiring mind and determination to get behind the numbers - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to explain finance issues to non-finance managers - Ability to use initiative and be flexible in order to provide management information on an adhoc basis - Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines Desirable Criteria - Experience of SAP and BPC is desirable - Experience of the Regulatory Contract is desirable To apply and avoid missing out on this excellent opportunity, please email your CV across today.
