We are currently looking for a Service Parts Engineer to join our automotive customer's Aftersales team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling the Aftersales Service Bill of materials and creating special tools for the retailer network. Principal accountabilities: · Create an Aftersales Service BoM for future models in accordance with business timing plans · Maintain the service BoM for in production and run out vehicles · Raise and release part numbers for Aftersales requirements · Provide approved service providers with parts related technical information and for Service and Aftersales activities · Manage the creation of dealer service tooling in accordance to vehicle release timelines and requirements · Coordinate the prove out of special tooling within CAD and development vehicles · Continue to monitor Engineering changes and understand the impact to the Aftersales BoM · Assist in content creation for dealer stock · Liaise with our service partner staff, other departments, and suppliers, as required Knowledge, skills & experience: · Experience of Automotive parts database preferred · Conversant with all aspects of vehicle repairs and servicing · Understanding of retailer operation systems · Excel skills are essential and knowledge of Microsoft Office tools required · SAP experience preferred but not essential · A suitable formal education via City & Guilds or equivalent, and an apprenticeship (extensive and suitable experience may be considered in lieu) is required
