Salary: £20,159 - £24,029 (Pro-rata for part time, sessional 39 weeks)
Hours: 18 (Wednesday - Friday)

Corstorphine Primary School is a non-denominational school which was founded near to the current site in 1646. The current roll is 551 excluding the nursery, which caters for up to 50 children in the morning and 50 in the afternoon. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator who has the ability to develop strong working relationships with children and parents and be able to adopt a solutions focused approach. They should be able to work in a sensitive and empathetic manner as part of a team with a commitment to equality and inclusion whilst accurately assessing children's behaviour and learning and responding accordingly. They should have experience of preparing and completing appropriate records including reporting to parents. Experience of using an online profiling system is desirable. They should be adept at creating stimulating environments, both indoors and outdoors, which assist in the development of language, communication, behaviour and personal care in children. They should be able to demonstrate a commitment to personal development including experience of a range of early years educational approaches. Experience of working with children with additional support needs is essential. This is a temporary post which will continue until the Easter holidays. The preference is for the 18 hours to be worked across 5 afternoons, however we are prepared to be flexible with the hours as long as a Friday afternoon is part of the working week.

This post is and considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
