To support our unprecedented growth, we are currently looking to hire a Careers Advisor in order to strengthen Parenta's relationship with schools, colleges, councils and housing associations. About the role. As a Careers Advisor at Parenta you will ultimately be accountable for leading the development of relationships between Parenta, schools and colleges as well as implementing an agreed strategy to build relationships with key influencers for example careers advisers, head teachers and parents. You will be required to promote Parenta to prospective students through the delivery of a wide variety of interactive class room talks, events, exhibitions, presentations and other activities. You will also be required to support the recruitment team in engaging with 16-24 year olds to fill the apprenticeship positions. The positions expectations . - Ensuring that large scale events are scheduled up to a year in advance, to fit around school calendars and key dates ie National Apprenticeship Week. - Ensuring smaller events are planned across the year by schools to fit within the academic yearly student cycle, ensuring that priority is given to target areas. - Ensuring the timing of school, enquirer and applicant communications is fluid and timely, planning ahead with an awareness of the distinct peaks and troughs of activity. - Effectively planning and organising workload to ensure that requirements are met for multiple projects. - Organising the delivery of events, including travel, resources and support materials. - Preparing and delivering presentations to prospective students, teachers and parents about wide misconceptions relating to apprenticeship and childcare. - Researching new events and plan for viability in relation to areas we support and where we have current vacancies. - Encouraging schools to seek Parenta's input into their advice and guidance events. - Responsible for providing specialist, credible, professional advice to prospective students and their parents on a wide range of issues relating to apprenticeships. - Building close working relationships with key staff (e.g. Recruitment, Health and Safety, Marketing, Administration and Training) to ensure effective delivery of a wide range of activities and events. - Have a "can do" attitude, assisting the recruitment team at quieter times in the events calendar. - Conducting candidate mock interviews over the telephone. - Contacting new schools to express how Parenta can support them during events, to support their students in becoming an apprentice in the industries we offer. - Contributing towards the development of marketing materials and communications. - Conducting research on events and student engagement and where appropriate, make recommendations on improving and developing the services we offer. What we look for. - Experience working within apprenticeships and further education. - Knowledge of the UK Further Education system with a strong understanding of current policies and practices in relation to apprenticeships and funding. - A confident and able public speaker. - Understanding of Apprenticeships and how to sell these to students. - Able to work interactively with young people in a classroom environment. - Strong interpersonal skills at all levels including the ability to engage with young people, parents, teachers, advisers as well as academic and support colleagues at Parenta. - Ability to manage a complex and varied workload and to work on own initiative. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to build strong lasting relationships with schools, colleges, councils and Housing Associations. - Ability to manage multiple external parties. - A confident and articulate presenter. - Ability to write and deliver engaging presentation materials. - Self-motivated individual - Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritise under pressure. - Strong organisation, accuracy and attention to detail. - Excellent IT and word processing skills, including MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook - Strong organisation, accuracy and attention to detail. - Embodies the Parenta 4C's: Demonstrates Commitment to goals and personal growth.
