As a successful candidate you will be leading a cross-functional pod to deliver feature enhancements, across the Practice Suite products. You will be getting the best out of the agile pod, by working energetically to help the team and the product owner, thereby allowing the team to be successful. You will also be the line manager for all members of the pod. You will be setting objectives, doing performance appraisals and developing the careers of your team. The role is a challenging and dynamic one, with key deadlines to be hit. Main Responsibilities - Managing the pod. - Planning and organizing scope to ensure it fits in with deadlines. - Set clear objectives for the pod. - Drives the agile pod on a daily basis to ensure what is committed to is delivered in each sprint - Communicating progress with the team and senior management via stand ups, burn down charts, sprint plans and scrum processes - Facilitate sprint planning, retrospective and sprint demos - Assist the product owner with keeping the backlog groomed - Ensure cross-team coordination - Identifying, communicating and mitigating risks - 1 to 1's, setting objectives, performance appraisals and career development of direct reports. - Encouraging others and pushing self to make improvements in productivity and efficiency. Person Specifications Qualifications - BSc or equivalent in a software engineering discipline Experience Essential Skills:- - Delivering projects using Agile Methodologies - Experience of delivering desktop solutions - Managing projects through to completion - Experience in team leadership and mentoring skills - Experienced with methods and techniques associated with planning and monitoring the progress of projects and assessing their health.
