Dev-ops Engineer/Lichfield/ 45,000 to 55,000 DOE possibilty of Remote work Due to our continued success and growth we are offering an exciting opportunity for a Devops engineer to join our Development team. Reporting to the CTO, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the operational standards and controls for a cloud deployment and the integration into the IT operational hosting teams. Key responsibilities Successful candidate's responsibilities will include: Collaboration with software manufacturing to deliver infrastructure as code Implement processes and procedures to allow continuous integration and continuous delivery Create and refine automated validation/testing procedures Implement metrics, monitoring and alerting for software services Continuously review operational activities and automate where possible. Design and implement operational developments to successfully transition changes into production. Implement automated monitoring and alerting processes to proactively predict and prevent incidents. Implement systems to track system and service performance to ensure SLA's are met. Contribute to the definition of and utilise standard Take-On procedures and working templates for new systems and services Contribute to assessing delivery models and develop more cost-effective solutions to reduce delivery costs and/or increase IT Service Availability Deliver robust, high performance, resilient solutions. Work collaboratively with all delivery teams to define operational requirements. Use of cloud services design and administration IT Service Management methodologies (ITIL V3) Strong understanding of DevOps working practices Implementing and supporting cloud based infrastructure (ideally Google Cloud) Detailed understanding of system administration tasks Containerisation and microservices (eg Docker, Kubernetes) Version control (eg Git, ideally Terraform) LaaS and PaaS (AWS, Azure) Programming and Scripting Configuration management Configuring monitoring toolsets Configuring scheduling and automation tools Working with development pipelines using TFS and TFS online. Agile working methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban The client is within commutable distance of Tamworth, Birmingham, Stafford, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, Burton-on-Trent and Wolverhampton.
