Job Summary: Development Support Engineers are responsible for specifying and controlling the engine build, instrumentation and test requirements for new gas turbine designs being run on test beds in Derby and around the world Required Skills: - Data manipulation, recording and reporting engine project hours and cycles, time on condition for example, within bespoke customer IT systems · - Creation of written drawing schemes and custom part numbers to allow the fitting of modified components to the engine · - Hardware movements between successive engine builds · - Specification of test experiments and instrumentation equipment · - Representation of the team at customer meetings and resolution of actions - The job requires excellent personal organizational and communication skills as methodical working and interaction with the customer are essential elements to this position. - The Development Support Engineer reports to the project Team Leader. - After initial orientation and training, the successful candidate will be given general direction from the Team Leader, but will be expected to perform duties and responsibilities independently. Minimum Experience Required: - Previous experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industry is preferred, but not essential. Minimum Education Level: - Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline or equivalent. - Candidates are expected to be computer literate in MS Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer. - Experience of Visual Basic, Excel macro's or databases would be advantageous but not essential.
