Polkadotfrog is exclusively working on an exciting opportunity with a Cambridge based designer & manufacturer of technology. We are currently recruiting for a number of senior software engineers working with Linux based devices and systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior engineer looking for variety and to work with cutting edge technology. We are seeking a versatile software engineer to join our clients' team to architect and develop software for our clients' advanced range of products. The role involves close cooperation with other members of the software and hardware teams working on the developing the next generation of products. This is a key role in delivering software for our clients' high performance solutions. Applicants ideally have an excellent knowledge of C, with a good working knowledge of network technology and specific programming skills in Linux, Rest API, embedded Linux. The successful candidate would have proven experiences complex problem solving and previous experience in the design of scalable, highly reliable, failure tolerant systems. Key skills and experiences: - Excellent knowledge of C - Good working knowledge of network technology and specific programming skills in Linux, Rest API, embedded Linux - Ability to understand a complex problem space and produce well designed, readable, testable, and well documented code - Good understanding of network multimedia - Experience of Networking and IP networks - Previous experience in the design of scalable, highly reliable, failure tolerant systems. - Leadership skills/ability/mentoring Desirable: - Experience of Video and audio networking in distributed systems - Experience of brokered WAN or Cloud systems - Experience with Python, Ruby, Django and SNMP - A working knowledge of encryption techniques would also be very useful - A good understanding of the sometimes complex relationships between network devices, users, groups, connection types, access rights and system status - Experience of Scrum and Agile - Ability to produce optimised and innovative solutions - A good degree or equivalent educational qualifications in an appropriate discipline Apply now for full information of this new and exciting position, one of our consultants will discuss with you confidentially.
