Assistant Management Accountant £22,000 - £24,000pa dependant on experience 3-6months FTC Our client, a large international and world leading company in refining and chemical production are currently recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant. The successful candidate would be responsible for delivery and support in the preparation of monthly financial results and business reports to all areas of the business unit, ensuring the reporting is provided in a timely and accurate manner. This role will be a CIMA training contract and the successful applicant will be expected to undertake/continue with the CIMA accounting. Principle Accountabilities - Assist in the month end closings process by preparing appropriate journals entries and preparation of monthly reporting for some of the smaller business units. - Developing KPIs for several business areas which the management accounts teams provide services for which helps them understand performance and where appropriate transferring such ideas to the other business units. - Be the financial main point of contact for the business units they are responsible for regarding the monthly reporting. - Hold meetings with the cost centre managers to investigate cost behaviours, develop trends and assist them with short term forecasting. - To have responsibility to developing budgets including formal submission. - Assist with half and full year financial, tax packages, including the submission of the intercompany schedules and resolving ant mismatches. - Provide key support during the budget process by managing departmental meetings and providing assistance to the Management Accountant/Finance Managers as required. Do you have? - Some accounting experience required, ideally within a manufacturing environment - Studying towards CIMA/ACCA qualification - Understanding of reconciliations, their purpose and the need to ensure timely completion - Team player with a proactive, organised and methodical approach - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Good problem solving and analytical skills - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel needed - Knowledge of SAP and/or ERP systems would be beneficial.
