Leeds Building Society is looking for a Senior Auditor to join our Internal Audit department, based at our Head Office in the heart of Leeds city centre. About the role You will provide an independent, third line of defence, internal audit assurance service to management and the Board. Your remit will focus on Finance, Treasury and Credit Risk. Key accountabilities - Deliver and lead individual audits assigned by audit management to achieve the Annual Plan and meet the commitment made to the Audit Committee.- Provide technical challenge to and assurance on Finance/ Treasury/ Credit Risk functions through audit planning, fieldwork and reporting.- Ensure that audit delivery processes consider all material risks, including prudential and conduct risks, and challenge the appropriateness and effectiveness of the first and second lines of defence control frameworks.- Apply the agreed audit methodologies to ensure conformance with professional guidelines issued by the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors, and identify and implement good practice developments.- Operate within the key performance measures for the department.- Work, in conjunction with management, to develop cost effective and practical solutions to improve levels of control and reduce risk exposure.- Prepare and present reports for Senior Management and/or the Audit Committee conveying the conclusions drawn from audit work undertaken. Essential Skills and Experience - Previous experience in audit (internal or external) or relevant risk management / business discipline.- Relevant Professional Qualification (Accountancy or ACT preferred, CISA, CIIA).- Experience in Finance/ Treasury/ Credit Risk.- Experience in Financial Services.- Advanced auditing skills across a variety of audit types or experience of audit specialism.
