We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Data Layer Developer to join our client's Business Intelligence Team to support the successful implementation of Information strategy and tools to govern data. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn skills using a full stack of leading edge business Intelligence technology and will be provided with a mixture of on the job and formal training using the BI tools implemented by the business. You will be encouraged and supported to use, learn and develop solutions in an agile way using languages including Java, R, Lua, Python, SQL. With the aim of identifying novel ways of providing solutions to problems. You will be supported through this learning with a mixture of on the job training, formal courses, opportunities for further education in relevant disciplines, access to industry expertise and your own insatiable desire to learn and to master your art! Job Accountabilities - To make a significant contribution to all aspects of analysis, development and support of an enterprise scale business intelligence environment. - Creation and maintenance of business information products to our internal users, with a focus on timely, accurate and consumable information that enables key decision making. - Ensure development work complies with the overall framework resulting in an ability to quickly and simply modify existing solutions to meet new requirements. Knowledge and Skills Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (Maths, Physics, Engineering, Economics). - Strong numeric and analytic skills. - Ability to work in a team environment. - Strong problem solving skills and a passion to learn challenge and develop creative solutions. - The ability approach solutions to problems in creative ways using the available tools. - A passion to learn new emerging technical skills and embrace new and better ways of working. Desirable Criteria This role requires a high degree of problem solving skills. You will need to use logic, creativity and analytic skills to reach solutions. - Ability to prioritise several competing requirements. - Passionate and willing to learn. - Ability to work autonomously. - Ability to work in an uncertain environment and sometimes to demanding timescales. - Ability to organise personal time well. - Ability to work in uncertain environments and maintain a high standard of delivery and customer focus.
