An expanding global brand are looking for a Senior Network Engineer focusing on delivering projects from pre-sales through to project delivery, particularly in the rail sector, to a high standard, utilising products and solutions. This is a project-based role, where your responsibilities will be to create the concept solution and proposal at presales stage and take it into and through the delivery project, driving the technical elements. This role is hands on and you will be expected to get down to the details and be prepared to complete different tasks that are required. The role often entails software and hardware integration with a variety of third party vendors and suppliers, selected in-house and by customers. The role will require excellent verbal and written communication with many different internal and external stakeholders, including IT, Engineering, Sales, Procurement, Marketing and Project Delivery. Main responsibilities will include: * Lead the technical aspect of new bid proposals. Including the creation of the solution architecture and design, creating detailed equipment lists (BoM), resource estimates both from internal departments and external partners * Proactively manage the technical elements of pre-sales pilots to ensure the solution works, the customer is happy, and the internal and external resources are meeting their obligations * Represent and build the relationship with direct customers, Sales Partners and Eco-System Partners * Refine and document customer requirements * Creating Customer facing Solution overviews, including liaison with other external 3rd parties to delivery the full turnkey, integrated solution * Refine and accurately document the system architecture design that will be implemented * Produce base system configuration files and document procedures to roll these out on a larger scale * Carry out acceptance tests * Handover finalised projects to Technical Support staff and maintenance department * Ensuring supplied components are correctly stated * Ensuring supply chain and stock management processes are followed * Participate in First of Class Installations * Make changes/modifications to fit installations * Working closely with the Sales Engineering team * Be part of a project from start to finish * Reviewing installation designs We believe you have the following skills/knowledge: * Computer Science or Network Engineering qualifications * Excellent Proven LAN/WAN Networking skills * Have a strong IP networking and data routing background * System architecture design experience * Experience of producing customer requirements and technical documentation * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Linux & Virtual Machine Experience * Strong team player with good work ethics, excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Highly organised self-starter, ability to work with little supervision * Ability to prioritise in a fast paced environment and adapting to meet the goals of the business * Able to travel within UK and rest of Europe when required and ability to work unsocial hours when required * Full Driving Licence
