Accounts Supervisor role with leading East Nottinghamshire company

Hays Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with this leading supplier company in the East Nottinghamshire area. This rapidly expanding SME deal with a large number of blue chip customers and are the leading company in their field.
Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the credit control, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions with responsibility for supervising, guiding and motivating other member of the team to achieve KPI's (not direct reports). The role will see you responsible for credit risk management (agreeing credit limits, proceeding with exceeded credit limits, escalating credit control issues, managing the credit facilities). You will be responsible for credit card expenses/reconciliations, petty cash, export documentation, bank reconciliations and card payments and oversee the processing of the accounts payable invoices.
The company work a 40 hour week although there may be some flexibility on start and finish time as long as the 40 hours are worked.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have recent and proven experience in credit control, accounts receivable and payables. Experience of managing or mentoring a team would be highly desirable but not essential if the potential is there to develop this. An ability to interpret management accounts, balance sheet and P&L is required and a knowledge of export and VAT would be beneficial.
You will have good IT skills, be able to pick up an ERP system and be comfortable with Excel (basic formulas, pivots and vlookups).
The successful candidate will be outgoing, great working in a team, motivated and willing to challenge commercial/credit decisions within the business at all levels. An aptitude towards process improvement and a desire to change/improve things is essential.
