Sales Engineer/Manager - EMEA Derbyshire £40,000 - 60,000 + Profit Share Scheme twice per annum My client is a £14 million business specialising in the design, development and manufacture of bespoke material handling systems for material reclamation. The company are part of a larger privately owned group with 100s of millions US$ global turnover and 3,000 staff worldwide. The company can provide full turnkey solutions for the metal recycling, foundry and cast house industries to allow their customers to retrieve as much material from their processes as possible. These highly bespoke systems compromise of a specialist pumping system, burners, conveying and the associated electrical and control system required to make the system function. The systems the company sell can range from 50K (system upgrade) up to £2.5 million (brand new installation) and are now looking to recruit for a new Sales Manager to focus on the EMEA region, this a complete capital equipment sales role working for a market leader in their field. The office in Derbyshire carries out both design and manufacture of these bespoke systems, you would be joining a close-knit team who pride themselves as working to support each other. The Role As Sales Engineer/Manager, you will be responsible for sale of system upgrades and brand-new turnkey projects ranging from £50,000 to £2.5 million. Your first six months in the role will be spent getting educated on the company's products becoming a product expert before going out into the market to find new leads and enquiries. The company are a true market leader in their field and have an excellent database of clients for you to speak to, they also have sales executives in the field who will pass on market intelligence and potential leads to you. That being said you will still be proactively taking the company to market to identify new prospects. A sales process will normally involve: - Enquiry or lead generated. - Qualify the lead identify if the company requires a site visit. - Discussing the technical requirement with the client - how the process will work, throughput requirement and answering technical questions from the customer. - Generate a budgetary proposal. - Negotiation on price and solution required. - Once the order is then placed the project is handed over to a Project Manager. You will be required to travel out into the territory looking to book multiple visits when in a region. You will typically spend a week at a time out of the country when travelling. Target regions are under discussion but travel is expect to be to Europe and the US. The role is expected to be split around 50/50 between time in the office and time in the field. When in the office you will be generating proposals, updating your CRM system, discussing customers technical queries with the engineering team and familiarising yourself with new potential technologies coming into the industry. The Candidate To be successful in your application for this Sales Engineer/Manager role you will need: - Experience in selling capital equipment in an engineering industry. - A desire to sell and win new business. - Experience in selling internationally. - A technical qualification of HNC or above (Ideally Degree Level).
