Management Accountant Description At Mercedes-Benz, our aim is to deliver the best, or nothing. Our people create a real customer focus whilst connecting more customers with our brand and products. We are currently recruiting for a newly / nearly qualified Management Accountant who will be an integral part of our Mercedes-Benz Cars finance team. In this newly created role you will be responsible for supporting our Parts and Logistics business with financial planning, analysis and reporting to enable effective business steering. As with any new role, there is fantastic scope to shape and grow it to help drive it forwards for the future. This is a highly commercial role with the opportunity to shape our Parts and Logistics business by having direct accountability for our pricing strategy across all of our UK businesses. If you're looking for a commercial, dynamic role that has a direct impact on the business and our colleagues, this is the role for you. About the role One of the critical aspects of this role is the regular analysis and reporting on price changes across the whole parts portfolio (circa 500,000 product lines). You will be solely responsible for ensuring any areas of concern you identify are flagged and necessary action is taken to rectify pricing errors. Customer discounts are a key part of any business and it will be your responsibility to ensure customer discount tables are regularly reviewed to ensure complete accuracy of discounts to each customer group. Cost control is another significant part of this role. You will take full ownership for the controlling of Operational Expenditure across Parts and Logistics, from preparing the operative plan through to reporting on actuals to senior stakeholders. This will involve monthly closing activities, including accruals, provisions and balance sheet reconciliations. Other key responsibilities within this exciting role include: - Revenue Control - supporting the controlling manager with month end revenue and cost of sales reporting for Parts Logistics - Preparation of monthly management accounts including a full pack of analysis including variances to the annual financial plan and monthly forecast - Providing support to the Controlling Manager for the successful delivery of planning and month end reporting, acting as a deputy where necessary - Ad hoc analysis, queries and projects as required Qualifications About you Alongside a high level of commercial awareness, you will need to be an exceptional communicator with the ability to translate often confusing financial information into easy to understand language that all areas of the business will understand. You will ideally be in the advanced stages of an accountancy qualification or even newly qualified in CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent alongside demonstrable experience in a commercial accounting role, preferably within a large organisation. Strong systems knowledge goes without saying - advanced Excel skills are a must, knowledge of SAP would be advantageous although definitely not essential. We don't need automotive experience but what we do need is an individual who has a keen eye for detail and a desire to learn and to progress. Attitude is everything here, our aim is to deliver the best and if you deliver the best in your role, you will reap the rewards and progress within a fantastic business. On offer Aside from an excellent salary and bonus structure which rewards personal and business success, you'll receive 2 tax efficient Mercedes-Benz lease cars, medical insurance, an excellent pension scheme, flexible benefits including options on annual leave, gym membership and life insurance and market leading professional and personal development. Our process Once you hit apply, there is a short, 10 minute application form to complete. Please ensure you attach, current CV when applying alongside an indication of your salary expectations. The Mercedes-Benz recruitment process reflects our obligations under relevant UK legislation. Whilst all applications are carefully considered, we are only able to progress applications from candidates who have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
