The Cumbria site is part of the Snacks & Confectionery Business Unit, a Division of Amcor Europe, Middle East, Africa & Americas. With an impressive customer base, the site employs over 300 people, housing processes including extrusion, flexographic printing, lamination and conversion. A rare opportunity has now arisen for a Projects Engineering Manager to continue to develop a pro-active, visible and continuous improvement focused function, contributing to site KPIs and overall business growth. Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, and with a team of 2 Project Engineers, you will ensure the simultaneous management of multiple projects, delivering best practice. Your diverse remit will include: - Ownership and management of the site's annual capital budget & improvement projects - from new capital introduction to equipment modifications. - Leadership of the team whilst taking ownership of your own projects. - Establishment and development of 'best value' relationships with key contractors, vendors & suppliers, whilst ensuring these are utilised effectively. - Development and strengthening of key internal stakeholder relationships at all levels of the business. - Development and improvement of project engineering systems and processes, including the establishment and reinforcement of departmental KPIs. Degree qualified, or equivalent, in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline, candidates must have proven capital project/manufacturing engineering experience, gained in a progressive and fast paced manufacturing environment. Whilst people management experience would be advantageous, we will also consider ambitious and proven Project/Manufacturing Engineers seeking their first people management role. With a continuous improvement focus, candidates must have strong communication and presentation skills, combined with the ability to influence, negotiate and challenge. A knowledge of project management systems such as MS Project and wider SAP/MRP systems would be useful.
