You will be part of the Closed Landfill Aftercare Team that look after nine sites in the Southern part of Hampshire, which are located between Portsmouth to the East, Ringwood to the west and Hook to the North What you'll do... You will carry out the monitoring and management of water, gas and leachate, including the maintenance of associated infrastructure and Leachate Treatment Plants, on landfill sites. You will ensure that the sites are kept operational (where applicable) and compliant to maximise revenue from the management of gas fields. Tasks related to this include - - Regular balancing of gas well fields - Checking gas flare operation - Scheduled and ad hoc environmental sampling and monitoring - Regular site checks to ensure leachate wells are compliant, analysis of any problems and correction as required - Core maintenance of leachate and gas infrastructure - Installation and servicing of compressors - Service of pneumatic pumps - Installation of new infrastructure e.g. pumps, etc. - Minor electrical works (problem identification and isolation). - Well remediation - Fusion welding of pipework - General maintenance of equipment - Auditing of infrastructure. - Management of Leachate Treatment - Plant, pumping an storage systems where installed About your knowledge, skills and experience... - Basic mechanical skills desirable - Basic electrical skills desirable. - Driving license essential - An appreciation of waste treatment biological processes desirable. - A good appreciation of Health and Safety and safe systems of working - Computer literate - Ability to work alone or as part of a team - Knowledge of gas systems infrastructure and well field balancing desirable - Knowledge of leachate pumping systems desirable Veolia recognises the positive value of inclusion and promotes equality.
