This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and talented Teacher with a passion for working with children and young people with complex challenging needs to take on a newly created role that combines Teacher and SENCO.

My Client supports pupils in a holistic way focusing on so much more than just their academic achievements. It’s really important to grow pupils’ self-esteem and nurture their social skills too. All this is offered in a setting that’s outstanding in its field.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To take the lead in developing and evaluating SEN practice in the school and to oversee the day to day operation of the school’s SEN policyTo raise standards of achievement of children with a SENTo increase staff confidence and competence in teaching children with SENTo ensure children with SEN have full entitlement to the National CurriculumKeep up to date with knowledge of national and local initiatives and how they may impact upon policy and practiceLiaise with parents of children with SENCollaborate with outside agencies to raise the achievement of children with SENWork alongside colleagues to develop appropriate schemes of work and individualised programmes for children with SENYou will have:

Qualified Teacher status with at least 4 years experiencePrevious experience Teaching KS3 and KS4Experience working with children with a wide range of SENUp to date DBS certificateEvidence of CPD and commitment to further professional developmentHave experience of leading a teamClosing Date: 15th October 2017
