Location: Gatwick Airport IT Communications Lead 12 Month Contract Overview: IT Communications Lead My client Gatwick Airport is looking to engage a Communications Lead to join them on a 12-month contract. You will be joining a great group of people in this fast paced and vibrant arena. As Communications Lead for Gatwick IT Department, you will be focusing 50% of your time on an Asset Data Platform programme and you will be asked to perform the following: - Effectively managing communications for the IT organisation - Specific focus on ADP (50%) - Manage the forward planning and implementation of internal communications campaigns, writing and editing content where appropriate, managing design and dissemination - Re-writing technical and official documents and publications in a media-friendly and informative manner, and providing marketing advice for their dissemination. - Writing internal comms releases, web stories and statements - Providing communications support for major IT events - Large Programme Releases, Strategies, Roadmaps, Infrastructure Projects etc - Carrying out pro-active and reactive media activities, including protecting the brand and reputation of the IT organisation, and responding to daily enquiries. - Covering IT/ADP events and creating and writing engaging stories for internal dissemination - Keep abreast of new techniques and ways of working through continuous professional development, gathering information on good internal communications practice from other organisations and learning opportunities and making recommendations for improvements Skills: IT Communications Lead - Min 5 years of experience in IT Comms in a lead role engaged on large, medium or complex projects involving large scale business integration - Hands on communication experience of IT - Authoring comms bulletins - Writing and delivering Communications Strategies and Plans - Experience as a reporter or correspondent in a media organisation-either audio, visual or print journalism - Writing press releases as appropriate, in conjunction with GAL comms team - Writing contents for various audiences and channels, mainly internal to GAL - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Sound news judgement and news writing. - Organisational and administrative skills. - Creative and strategic thinking. - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team and perform well under pressure. - Event management experience. - Experience of copywriting or journalism, writing for a variety of audiences - Substantial experience of internal communications within a complex organisation - Experience of planning and delivering internal communication campaigns within clear brand parameters - Experience of working with intranet tools and using online content management systems - Experience in writing persuasively for a number of audiences with different interests and levels of literacy - Experience of working closely with senior staff in the shaping and delivery of internal communications messages and advising on best practice - Successfully managing projects to budget and deadline - Ability to influence stakeholders across the organisation, including senior management - Able to build credibility and develop effective relationships with stakeholders - Ability to act on initiative and exercise sound judgment - Balancing multiple priorities and managing your own workload Qualifications required: IT Communications Lead An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject or a relevant professional qualification accredited by the CIPR, CIM, IoIC or equivalent Please apply via the website and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me on ************* We look forward to receiving your application, many thanks Amanda Javadi-Babreh Airports is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
