We are looking for an exceptional Front end developer to work with our current team to help Missguided develop and expand further. Our ideal Front End Developer is someone who can add new ideas, experience, energy and enthusiasm into the mix. The successful Front End Developer will need to enjoy and thrive from working in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Within an Agile team, you will be working collaboratively with the Development & QA team and be responsible for the Missguided site and infrastructure.

You will be involved various projects, which range from small day-to-day BAU changes to long-term projects such as systems integration. You will also collaborate closely with all IT disciplines and other business functions, having a view of projects from their inception through to deployment.

Reporting to the Development Manager and Head of Development, your key responsibilities will be the maintenance and development of Missguided’s e-commerce technology platforms and associated infrastructure, and ensure that projects are delivered on-time and on-budget.

Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

·Frontend Magento development within an Agile team for both website and mobile

·Collaborate with Business Analysts, Scrum Masters and Project Managers to facilitate project delivery

·Evaluate existing development processes, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks and proposing solutions

·Coordination, assessment and planning of releases into Production environments

·Peer review of code from both internal and third party Software Engineers, promoting best practices and quality of code

·Any other activities as outlined by the Development Manager or Head of Development

Skills, Experience and QualificationsEssential:

·Minimum of 3 years of commercial experience

·Strong experience in knowledge of:



oJavaScript and frameworks (such as JQuery and Prototype)

  • Frontend development, particularly responsive websites and workflow tools like SASS and Grunt

·Minimum 1 years experience in Magento theme modification, best practices and layout updates using XML

·Experience of using project management tools such as JIRA

  • Comfortable working with Git or another version control system in a team environment
  • Happy using the command line interface as part of your workflow.

·Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies

·Be able to self-manage their own workload

·Ability to multi-task and juggle both individual tasks as well as oversee team tasks

  • Attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Clear verbal and written communication
  • Be a self-starter and able to work on your own initiative
  • Be able to influence and lead by example


·Magento Frontend Certification

  • Current JavaScript frameworks, such as NodeJS, KnockoutJS or ReactJS

·Knowledge and the willingness to cross-train in other languages and technologies

  • Basic PHP
  • Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Mentoring other developers
