Systems Engineer (Defence) / Preston/ Initial 8 Month Contract/ £38- £44Ltd Per Hour My client is a well respected defence/ aerospace organisation who is currently experiencing an ongoing period of growth and success. Due to an ever increasing workload, they are currently looking to recruit a systems engineer to join their dedicated team of engineering professionals. This is an initial 8 month contract and is paying a rate of £38LTD- £44LTD Per hour. Please finds the role description below: Job Description A vacancy exists within my clients Engineering Integration team. The role will primarily involve Engineering Integration Product Definition and Requirements Management activities associated with a variety of aerospace programmes. The role will involve Engineering Integration Requirements Management and Compliance Demonstration Activities initially as part of bid team response activities. In addition liaison with Customer and interface with project teams for definition of technical product responses and collation of compliance statements and verification evidence is expected. The role of the Engineer will report to the Production Definition Requirements Management Team Leader. Main responsibilities will involve: To support the Section Leader in planning, coordinating and effective delivery of specific products and activities DOORS database activities would be expected The capture and management of customer requirements, translating into platform level technical proposal responses leading to Weapon System Specification requirements To define associated qualification and verification activities at platform level To analyse qualification and verification evidence for compliance at both platform level and at avionic and avionic sub system levels Liaison with lead engineering disciplines and functions Support to Requirements, verification and compliance review meetings Skills and qualifications will ideally include: Appropriate engineering qualification and experience Member of a professional body Knowledge of typical product design lifecycle Knowledgeable with regard to LCM and its application Knowledgeable with regard to Requirements Management Knowledgeable with regard to Avionic Systems, Weapons Integration What we're looking for in you: Able to demonstrate a track record of delivering quality engineering in large or complex projects Good people management skills and experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment Ability to build positive and effective relationships providing customer focus and shaping expectations Good communication and influencing skills, drive, initiative and flexibility. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following; Compilation of Platform level Technical Definition Documents in response to Customer Statement of Requirements Compilation of Platform Level Weapon System Specification Requirements Requirements Management and Traceability Compilation of Platform level Verification Activities and Test Index Plans Compilation of Platform level Compliance Demonstration Plans and Reports Experienced in use DOORS Database desirable (no training will be provided) Review and Assessment of New Requirements Support to meetings Please register interest by submitting an up to date CV without delay.
