It is hard to know where to begin with the breathtaking hotel, The Midland. The impressive building stands proud in the heart of Manchester's city centre,and over the course of its 100 year history, the hotel has played host to Kings, Queens, Presidents, Prime Ministers and rock stars.The Midland offers a choice of 312 sumptuous bedrooms and suites all opulently decorated and oozing charm and character.
At QHotels we are proud of the quality and standard of our Hotels and the service we provide and we have a passion for providing exceptional hospitality and we have invested a lot in our hotels through extensive refurbishment and redevelopment programmes and we certainly want to keep our properties looking fantastic.Every QHotel therefore has their own dedicated team of maintenance who willlook after day to day repairs, preventative maintenance, energy efficiency,compliance with health and safety and also fire regulations, as well as management of on going maintenance contracts.
As Duty Engineer, you’ll be supporting the Maintenance Manager with general day to day maintenance of the building, as well as statutory compliance. You may also assist in some smaller in house repair and refurbishment projects.
As you’ll know, we’re open 365 days a year, 7 days a week and so we need to be able to count on maintenance support when its needed, so as part of the Maintenance team you’ll provide flexible coverage which will include some shift work and may also include ‘on call duties’. This role is based on 2 days on 2 days off 12 hours a shift.
What you'll need
You need to have proven experience in general maintenance, and preferably you will also have a trade, for example carpentry, plastering, joinery, painting, decorating, plumbing or electrical qualifications
Excellent spoken and basic written English
Some working knowledge of Health and Safety and Fire Regulations
