Role Detail Lead complex fault calls technically and take ownership of technical issues escalated from other engineers within the service desk overseeing these problems to resolution, managing escalations into relevant manufacturers where necessary. Perform advanced troubleshooting providing "hands on" third line escalation assistance to other Managed Services or Operations staff if required. Ensure all support calls are executed within SLA's and to high standards, highlighting any issues or potential risks to SLA. Knowledge and Experience We are looking for a minimum of 6+ years' in-depth experience with in an enterprise or commercial IT support environment supported by a good grounding in networking concepts and technologies. We expect you to have worked with a number of leading manufacturers of LAN and WLAN technologies and you should have familiarity and experience in the design and implementation of solutions in a number of the following areas: - Secure Wireless LAN's - Data Centre (Switching Fabric) - Core, Distribution and Edge Networking - Network Management and Monitoring - Network Access Control - Mobile Device Management - Mobile Application Management. The following key skills are required to support the design and implementation process of the above areas: - Installation, configuration and troubleshooting Layer 2, 3 and 4 protocols (STP, LLDP-MED, ARP, VRRP, OSPF, SNMP, Multicast, IPsec, TCP, UDP, etc.) - IP topology design and documentation - Migration design and documentation - Microsoft Office Suite including Visio for topology design documentation - Remote trouble shooting via telephone, ssh, telnet, etc. - RADIUS installation, configuration and troubleshooting (preferably FreeRADIUS and Microsoft NPS) - Troubleshooting and Fault Finding utilising packet capture/inspection tools such as Wireshark - Possess a good understanding of best practice LAN and WAN design A proven track record in designing solutions with the manufacturers' products and solutions below is highly desirable: - HP Networking - Brocade (Foundry) - Aruba Networks - Infoblox - Checkpoint, Fortinet What's in it for you?
