The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for establishing and maintaining network performance by building net configurations and connections and troubleshooting network problems. Who are we? Scope of Role The Group IT function support all of these offices. The role forms part of the Networking Team that consist of 3 Engineers and the Global Infrastructure Manager Networks. The Group IT function is based in Chafford Hundred however there are teams and individual roles located internationally. Key Accountabilities: - Design network solutions as per project requirements. - Provide network solutions to the design authority for approval. - Provide top level support within the Networking Team for technical issues. - Administer global WAN and LAN configurations on existing Cisco equipment including TDM, Broadband, VSAT, VLANs, STP, VTP and TCP/IP routing. - LAN-to-LAN (WAN) IPSEC VPN gateway administration. - Manage remote access environment and all RAS users including but not limited to Cisco VPN. - Maintain Cisco firewall appliance configuration and software. - Maintain Cisco IOS firewall implementations. - End to end network project planning and implementation. - Support of network Engineers and mentoring less experience Engineers - Maintain Cisco Switch installations including Catalyst 6500 Series - Global responsibility for security including network and Internet security and LAN/WAN security. - Work within strict change management structures to comply with standards. - Work with Helpdesk ticketing response system. - Monitor network uptime and availability. - Assist in network system inventory. - Build new network and system deployments according to specified logical plans. - To integrate new additional offices. - Provide problem troubleshooting and resolution to end-user community. - Implement department policies and procedures. - To effectively communicate across countries. - To provide escalated support to any level of user whilst on-call. Key Deliverables: - Network Security - Data Loss Prevention - Capacity Planning - Network Monitoring Key: Analytical Thinking Technical Solutions Team Work Quality Focus Planning and Delivery Innovative Initiative Risk Analysis Essential: - Knowledge of SNMP, Syslog and Netflow technologies and deployment. - In-depth network experience and proven background network project planning and management. - Experience with DMVPN. - Effective time management skills - Precision and clarity in both written and verbal communications with excellent interpersonal skills - Ability to work autonomously, with little supervision. - Proven experience of providing coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members. SD-WAN experience - Cloud Networking experience - Knowledge and experience of Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS). - Cisco CCNP-RS, CCNP-Security - Cisco CCDP Cisco CCNP-Wireless - Able to travel internationally and work unsociable hours, when required - - Since we are Global respecting other people and their cultures is essential as much as your Technical skills in all honesty - I'd enjoy seeing people who speak other languages in addition to excellent English - Spanish or Arabic would be useful. This role will be both Home and Office based from Chafford Hundred.
