ITS Infrastructure Specialist Perm Job PurposeResponsible for providing 2/3rd line support for all site servers and network infrastructure ensuring the high availability of the systems and to support the business in achieving business goals. Ensure global and local IT standards are implemented, and contribute to Global initiatives and the Holmes Chapel Site & UK Infrastructure design & direction as required. Be involved or responsible for project work to facilitate business\IS projects. You will be able to design and implement systems in a compliant and validated fashion in accordance to GxP regulatory guides. Key Accountabilities* Troubleshooting system and network problems, diagnose and solve hardware/software Incidents/problems.* Considerable experience in administering a VMware Infrastructure including HA, DRS and ideally SRM. Good troubleshooting skills with Performance issues. * Design and develop new business solutions, in order to meet agreed user specification, identifying both internal and external resource requirements, as well as utilising appropriate technologies.* Provide project related consulting service in line with specific key goals, and ensure projects are implemented on time, within budget and to customer satisfaction.* Create, manage and evolve polices, processes and procedures.* Management of the IS asset inventory list, including periodic audits ensuring the accuracy of the data.* Provide a point of contact for IS related purchases on site, ensuring there is no unauthorised spend on IS related equipment. Management of Resources (if the job holder raises purchase orders)* Accurately raises Purchase Requisitions with information provided by requestor and ensure such information is correct* Updates systems in a timely way to reflect the current status of purchase orders and any deliveries of goods and services* Attends to invoice system requests and queries quickly and efficiently Ethical Leadership* Takes personal accountability to use personal experience and knowledge, as well as the training and tools provided by Client, to maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all ethics and governance relevant to the role (including the Industry Code of Practice, Client Policies and Procedures and any relevant legal requirements); and demonstrate personal leadership in applying these to all work undertaken. * Escalates any decisions, or seek the support of colleagues or management if personal knowledge and understanding is not at the level required to carry out any part of the role.
