We are happy to be working with our client who has established itself as one of the largest demolition, dismantling and asbestos removal companies in Europe. This client of ours complete all projects safely, competently and efficiently, to an agreed programme. Due to continual success and growth they are are now seeking to employ a Project Engineer to add to their team. The Project Engineer reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for: - Liaising with members of the management team to ensure that suitable and sufficient work methods are developed in time to meet programme constraints - Development and authoring of demolition method statement and risk assessments - Development of lifting plans and acting as competent person for lifts - Scheduling and preparing project programmes (MS Project). - Attend regular project meetings. - Co-ordinating the work of structural engineers, including the supply of relevant information. - Production of condition surveys - Carry out limited setting out and surveying duties - Assisting in the compilation of the Site Health & Safety File - Raising technical queries. The candidate will have a degree qualification in Civil/Building Engineering or Similar Demolition experience is not a prerequisite for the role although successful candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the hazards arising from, or with regard to, demolition or similar work. Full training will be provided, however candidates will be expected to have a good standard of computer skills (eg, word, excel, project, etc.), in addition a knowledge of Visio would be preferable. The position is site based on a project around 45 miles from Edinburgh, but travel throughout the UK could be required, so the role will require flexible candidates who are willing and prepared to work away from home.
