JOB TITLE: Commercial Solicitor - Construction LOCATION: Reading SALARY/RATE AND BENEFITS: £30,000 - £45,000 (Depending on Skills and Experience) + Benefits YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING: To be successful in this role, you should: * Be a qualified solicitor with NQ to 2 years PQE. * Have a detailed knowledge of the construction industry. * Have the ability to deal with a varied range of commercial and construction contracts, including standard form construction contracts (JCT, NEC3 and FIDIC) and understand what is acceptable in the market. * Have the ability to work on your own and within a team. Strong negotiation, drafting, communication and inter-personal skills are essential for this role. * Excellent organisational skills. ROLE INFORMATION: The primary purpose of the role is to provide legal support to Rullion's Client. Our Client's business is a multi-utility company that carries out design and construction works in respect of assets owned and operated by other companies and third parties. Our Client's Heat Networks designs, constructs, owns, operates and maintains district heat projects. This role has been created to work with both businesses on reviews, negotiations and drafting of complex and high value commercial and construction contracts projects throughout the UK. Key Accountabilities * Provide legal advice on a range of legal, commercial and operational issues and provide proactive and practical options to your internal client to ensure legal risks are understood and managed. * Review, comment on, negotiate and/or draft agreements including: construction and commercial agreements. * Provide legal advice and liaise and support the business on major bids and tenders. * Co-ordinate and manage the outsourcing of legal work when required. Knowledge of the energy, utility and construction industries will be advantageous. As this role involves some travel throughout the UK, a full driving licence is desirable. You'll be based at our prestigious new Forbury Place office in Reading. And you'll use the latest digital technology in your role.
