Our client is one of the UK's leaders in the Power & Energy Industry. The Energy Management & Grid Division offers a broad spectrum of solutions, primarily focusing upon sustainable, renewable and smart technologies. Its offering includes products, systems and solutions for smart grids, smart metering, energy efficient buildings, and safety and security. Due to continued growth and the commitment to the successful delivery of a significant, long term framework programme consisting of an intense throughput of low value / high volume contracts, our client is now wishing to appoint an experienced professional in the capacity of Business Data Analyst. Reporting to the UK Operations Manager, you will take full accountability to collate, manage and analyse a vast amount of field / site produced data relating to resources, labour, plant and materials. Following this you will be required to interpret all gathered information to then effectively propose solutions and methodology pertaining to cost / time / resources efficiencies and / or improvements, whilst simultaneously undertaking business and process modelling. As such, communication with a wide variety of stakeholders is essential, coupled with the ability to analyse and interpret information, and to ensure that requirements are captured accurately whilst business objectives are consistently met or bettered. The Role * To create and work with complex data sets and reports that offer vital insight to the management team * Supporting the Operations Manager in managing relationships with external and internal stakeholders * Work closely with the technical development teams to deliver smart solutions to improve operational performance * Devise new products to monitor, control and report on complex operational performance and ensure that deadlines / guarantees of service are met or bettered * Work with Change Managers to streamline any process or system implementations * Ensuring the business is ready for any changes or new systems / processes / procedures, whilst simultaneously reporting quickly and accurately from all new applications * Development and provision of management information for the purpose of performance reporting and invoicing * Business process design and re-engineering to ensure the most effective processes are defined during the solution definition phase of the programme * Appreciation of Cost Benefit Analysis and Cost Benefit Realisation, where applicable, to ensure that the value of delivery is known * Identification of risk and ability to manage and mitigate are important to ensure that appropriate actions can be taken * Review of System Use Cases to ensure that project purposes and solutions provided are aligned to customer objectives * Investigate the implication of systems changes and provide estimates * Promote team working and provide advice and guidance to colleagues and business users on business analysis change issues Participate in product evaluation and selection process The Person * Experience of complex data analysis and data presentation to gain business insights * Experience of working with Oracle datasets and PLSQL but not essential * Strong organisation skills and the ability to work independently * Input ideas and suggestions for improvements within the role and the department. * Must be self motivated, able to work and make decisions with minimal supervision * Good Attention to detail with ability to identify trends and exceptions in large data sets * Root cause analysis skill and ability to solve complex data problems with an analytical approach * Effective stakeholder management * Experience of working the full project life cycle * Have experience in designing and creating report specifications * Educated to degree level or relevant business experience * ISEB Accreditation or other recognised Business Analysis qualifications are desirable * Knowledge of DTC and RGMA flows is preferred but not essential This challenging and exciting opportunity, requires an individual offering extensive business process and data analysis expertise, whilst additionally possessing demonstrable experience in the management and delivery of change and efficiency procedures.
