PC Support Engineer (1st / 2nd Line) - LAN, WAN, Network, VPN, Windows 7/8, PC Hardware, Junior Leading Network Manufacturing Organisation seeks a dynamic, intelligent and technically astute 1st & 2nd Line PC Support Engineer with 1-2 years relevant experience. You will have excellent diagnostic skills looking after hardware & software faults based around Windows Operating Systems, TCP/IP, VPN, LAN/WAN & MS Office technologies. Duties will include: ? Provides end-user support for basic technology and application questions and problems ? Monitors the HelpDesk telephone queue and mailbox. ? Supports end-users at their desks when necessary. ? Routes support issues to the correct issue owners via call tracking software. ? Assists in the deployment of new hardware and software. ? Sets up new and loaner computers for end-users. ? Respond to approved requests to provide timely support to end users for setting up, installing, delivering, and relocating desktop personal computers (PCs), related equipment, and network connections and access The ideal 2nd Line Desktop Support Analyst MUST HAVE a proven track record of installation, configuration, administration, fault finding, troubleshooting and supporting Apple Mac systems with recent OS versions, Windows XP, Windows 7, TCP/IP & MS Office. The ideal 1st / 2nd Line Desktop Support Analyst must have a proven track record of delivery, installation, upgrade, and troubleshooting of PC hardware, operating systems, user access accounts, productivity software, LAN & VPN connectivity, printers and other peripherals within a Windows Operating Systems, TCP/IP & MS Office technologies environment. Excellent TEAM WORKING, INTERPERSONAL & COMMUNICATION skills a must. You must work well under pressure and work to tight deadlines. A passion for supporting people is essential. AGAIN, key technical skills needed for the 2nd line Hardware & Software Desktop Support Analyst are: ? Windows ? TCP/IP ? MS Office ? LAN ? VPN ? PC Hardware This is an initial 10 month contact based in Surrey and is paying a rate of £14-£16.50/hour (7 hour working day / 35 hour working week).
