Position - Principle Support Engineer An enthusiastic, pragmatic and conscientious Engineer with a positive attitude required. The position would potentially suit someone with a defence or aerospace engineering background. Job Role - Leading and undertaking Reliability, Safety, and Supportability engineering tasks including data collection and analysis, development of maintenance and operating procedures, producing reports and plans. Key Objectives & Responsibilities - Undertake and Lead Reliability and Safety work. - Development of Maintenance processes and procedures. - Analysis and identification of the support resources necessary to conduct the Maintenance procedures (tools, support equipment, spares, consumables, human interface etc.). - Provide the logistic support input into data records / technical publications, reports and plans. - Ensure that support lessons learnt are disseminated to all interested parties. - Work as part of the Supportability team to ensure that the logistic support system provides the necessary maintenance and repair capability. - Undertake, as required, Maintenance Task Analysis and associated ILS and LSA processes. - Assist in the coordination of Maintainability demonstrations and assessment activities. - Assist in the preparation of the ILS element plans (Maintainability, Reliability, Failure and Safety assessments, Spares range and scale, Training requirements and aids, Tools, Test and Support Equipment). - Ensure that delivered support data is provided in line with programme schedule. Experience, Qualifications & Competency Requirements - A technical background preferably in defence or aerospace engineering. - Fully conversant with MS Office. - Understanding of ILS activities. - Good written work skills and experience of technical report writing. - Experience of developing FMECA's, summary reports and recommendations, Safety Cases, and Reliability modelling. - Effective communication skills are essential, as are good interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to make sound technical assessments based on knowledge and experience. - Preferably educated to HNC/HND/Degree level in Aerospace Maintenance fields and/or similar. Advantageous - Experience of working with industry (Air Authority, IPTs, MoD etc) - Hands-on maintenance experience to include on-equipment maintenance, workshop practices, use of test equipment and support equipment, system/component check-out/testing.
