Are you an experienced Body Design Engineer looking to join a leading Research and Development Team for a major automotive manufacturer? Do you have passion for future vehicle development?

If so, Assystem have an opportunity for you! One of the world's largest automotive manufacturers is currently recruiting for a Design Engineer to help them develop unique and innovative automotive products. Based in the UK, you will be working within a dedicated and enthusiastic team of Suppliers and Engineers on rolling contract basis. This is not your usual CAD role .... you will be responsible for managing the design process, liaising with engineers and suppliers specifically for to the development of the vehicle upper body (mainly metal and glazing, with some mouldings / plastics) for current and future models,

To be considered for the role you will have the following knowledge, skills & experience:
*A minimum of 3 years experience in automotive engineering
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaison/negotiation at all levels both internally and externally
*Design and development of current and future model closures - components and systems.
*Leading the technical development from concept through to production
*Responsible for achieving quality, cost and delivery targets.
*Supporting benchmarking and design to cost activities
*Root cause investigation and countermeasure for market issues
*Bill of material creation and management
*Supplier management to ensure system performance levels are met.
*Liaison and negotiation with others at all levels both internally and externally.

Having an understanding of Unigraphics NX would be a distinct advantage, however, this is not essential. A full UK driving licence is however, required to fulfil this role.
