The Rolls-Royce ROCET 2 availability contract ensures provision of serviceable RB199 engines and Accessories to the RAF Tornado GR4 platform at RAF Marham.

The Rolls-Royce Service Delivery Centre (SDC) is positioned at RAF Marham and operates across the forward/depth interface to deliver this service. Their purpose is to deliver ML1/ML2 maintenance solutions to engines and Accessories until Tornado OSD thereby negating the need to return them to industry.

This role is for an RB199 Electrician at the RAF Marham SDC – duties and responsibilities are outlined below.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Work and comply with Regulatory, Safety and Organisational requirements within MiL145.

Maintain, modify and test Main Engine Control Units (MECUs).
Carry out inspection of RB199 engine harnesses.
Maintain, modify, develop repair procedures and test RB199 engine harnesses.
Use Engineering Data, supporting publications and documentation, as well as IT systems.
Carry out PAT testing within the RRSDC.
Deliver ROCET 2 customer service.
Assist with the compiling of Deviation Deterioration Reports (DDRs).
Carry out any additional tasks as required.

Knowledge, skills and qualifications


  • Aircraft Electrician experience - Engine and Accessory maintenance within an operational environment

Comprehensive experience of work within an Air operational environment
Ability to work competently in a changeable environment
Commitment to HS&E & Business Improvement
Good communication skills and customer engagement
Ability to work with initiative in line with published documentation sets
Proactive attitude to work
IT literate with an ability to learn new systems


  • RB199 engine experience

Experience of work within a lean environment
PAT tester qualified.
Experience/knowledge of encapsulated harnesses and Raychem heatshrink systems.
