Investment Assistant sought for an Exeter based business. This position is responsible for actively supporting investment managers in their daily business across wide-ranging administrative and organisational functions. Applicants will have previous administration experience ideally within a Financial Services business, although this is not essential, and should ideally be educated to A level Standard (additional qualifications would be advantageous, such as an Investment Operations Certificate) The primary role is to assist with administration of portfolios and client records, handling client queries and liaising with the Operations department. While this role will assist in the management of private client relationships, this role is primarily an administrative one. The position: Deal with administration for the team and identify ways of improving efficiency. To assist in all aspects of opening and maintaining client accounts, including obtaining AML documentation. Keeping client information up to date and assisting in the production of client suitability reports. Such roles may well involve communicating directly with clients, and intermediaries such as solicitors and accountants. To follow the progress of new investments coming into the business, and to follow up any problems/issues which may arise. To liaise with the accounts department over cash movements and to administer payments. Setting up, closing and managing client files, ensuring all information is up to date and accurate. To ensure that compliance regulations are adhered to. Following up potential new client connections and ensuring that the necessary forms are completed and fully processed. To manage occasional special projects, such as collection of Know Your Client (KYC) information. Experience of working in a similar environment is preferable as is a general understanding of the stock market and investment operations. Applicants must have good communication skills, both written and verbal and will be highly organised, and numerate. The ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy is essential, as well as having a high degree of initiative. You should be a strong team player as this role supports a number of Investment Managers and therefore having the flexibility to adapt to their particular styles of working is key. You will be an enthusiastic individual with a 'can-do' attitude, combined with a personable manner and good sense of humour and lastly a good level of Microsoft Word and Excel is a must.
