To ensure we provide the best service possible to our customers we have in recent years created new and innovative teams such as the Restoration Team. Restoration Technicians play a vital role in reactive and planned activities based around the prevention and mitigation of supply interruptions. We are looking to add to the team with this role being based in the Northamptonshire area.
Supporting the provisions of alternative supplies, from source to tap around the clock, the Restoration Technician is a truly cross- process individual who will be working on complex technical issues as well as transporting essential equipment to locations as required. Our Restoration Technicians operate as multifunctional skilled technicians driving and operating rigid and artic HGV tankers, chlorination trailers, overland mains equipment and much more during their standard working day and 24/7 standby cover.
This role will see you playing an important part in ensuring water cleanliness by taking bacteriological and chemical sampling, surveying network filling points and ensuring emergency mains are chlorinated and air scoured.
With a huge emphasis on working safely, you will have the ability to work in an innovative team by recognising gaps in current restoration equipment and identify new technologies and innovative solutions to improve the interruption to supply performance. In addition, you will be part of an ever growing team identifying training needs within the wider business and raising the profile and importance of the Restoration Team across the industry.
Educated to a GCSE level or equivalent. Desirably you will have a full HGV license however not essential as training will be provided. This position is one of our first point of contact for customers, therefore it is essential you have a strong customer focus.
With previous experience of front line operations, you will be NRSWA accredited and further qualifications such as Networks LTO, Distribution Control NVQ and Leakage Control NVQ will be advantageous.
The Restoration Technician role does require you to be on stand- by, therefore, a flexible approach and a high degree of resilience in challenging environments is key.
