Smart DCC (a licensed entity owned by Capita Plc) is the programme and service integrator working on behalf of the energy industry to establish and operate the data and communications infrastructure that will enable all UK homes to have a smart meter by 2020. The Smart Data and Communications Company Ltd (Smart DCC) is delivering a once-in-a-generation programme to build a smart metering network for Great Britain. What you will do: The Security Architect will perform Security Design Reviews / Architecture Risk Analysis to identify potential technical security weaknesses in network and application designs. - Specify and/or ensure that security architectures for network, application and infrastructure solutions have adequate security controls to secure data-at-rest, data-in-transit and data-in-use. - Create and/or review design documents such as High Level Design (HLD), Low Level Design (LLD) and detailed test plans. - Assure the compliance of architecture specifications/solution designs with relevant Smart DCC security policy and HMG Security Policy and Standards. - Determine, document and govern the criteria by which the Design, Test and Operation of the service should adhere. - Specify the security aspects of any provider procurement and delivery activities. - Engage with our customers, partners and other stakeholders to ensure that requirements are understood and security controls enable those requirements to be met. - Assess the compliance of partner/third-party solution designs with Smart DCC security policy and architectural standards and advise on remediation activities. - To consult on all other technical security aspects of the Smart DCC programmes and support the Smart DCC Security Team to drive excellence. - To analyse changes in the threats and/or business requirements that may impact the effectiveness of the security controls within the Smart DCC system. Your experience will include: - Experience of performing systematic risk assessments. - Excellent knowledge and experience of applying security architecture principles to domains such as networks, infrastructure hosting services, web services. - Knowledge of security standards and technologies including TCP/IP, TLS, SOAP, WS Security, SAML, REST, OAuth, OpenId and IPsec. - Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) including certificate signing process, Certificate Authority initiation and management. - Identity and access management such as full SAML assertion / revocation cycle and Identity Provider initiation and management. - Network access controls, security operating procedures and products. - Knowledge of business application and operating system security including hardening of Unix/Linux and Windows platforms. - Understanding of security delivery lifecycles. - Technical Design Authority (TDA) experience covering network, application and security activities. Skills and Experiences Desirable - TOGAF 9.1 or SABSA OR CCIE certified or equivalent OR CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, SSCP, GIAC, QSA, CEH or CISM - CESG Certified Professional - IA Architect - Knowledge of CNI and associated risks - Knowledge of the energy industry, Smart Metering Due to the nature of this role successful candidate must be eligible to go through required Security Clearance Process.
