JavaScript Developer - Bristol - Negotiable - Our size gives the tech team the best of both worlds - big enough to work with diverse clients on challenging problems, but small enough where each team member is a powerful and important voice in delivering valuable software. We move fast and look to our tech team to keep us moving toward the future, whether that means cloud native applications, micro services, highly available message queues, or faster deployment pipelines. As a Mid-Weight JavaScript Developer, you will need to be up-to-date on the latest trends. You should be fluent in modern ES2016 and ES2017 syntax, and have developed client side applications either by hand or using a VDOM based library. You should understand patterns for complex client side applications, including MVC or Flux, and understand how to leverage functional programming techniques. You should also be comfortable working with CSS processors including PostCSS and SASS, and be up to date on modern features such as flexbox and grids. A keen eye for design is a must as you work alonside our UX and Design departments. We take accessibility seriously, you should be knowledgable about the W3C WCAG technical standard and how to write compliant semantic HTML. Your JavaScript experience should be more than cursory and be up to date with ES2016 and ES2017 standards. You will have developed applications with React, Vue, Inferno, Cycle or other VDOM based component library. You should have in-depth knowledge of many of the following: Essential: Semantic HTML ES2016 standards Thorough understanding of VDOM based library Flux architecture PostCSS / SASS Webpack Functional programming concepts git Desirable: Other languages such as C#, PHP, Java or Go Gang of Four patterns RESTful API design Firebase, Contentful or other BaaS platformsWe work to provide developers with the tools they need to get the job done.
