Our client, a successful US owned business is seeking to recruit a Group Financial Controller to join its Senior Management Team based in Leicester. This role is responsible for the preparation of consolidated Management Accounts for all legal entities. The role is expected to create a reliable financial reporting system with clear structured accounting data to inform the business of its financial performance.

The company is a leading supplier of industrial products in Europe offering the widest choices to all industries, professions and trades. Operating from its Head Office and based in Leicester, it has over 50 UK locations and 10 International branches. The company is a subsidiary of a leading US business with operations also in Asia, Europe and Latin America.

The role
Key Responsibilities:
*Rationalising the number of cost centres, legal entities and extent of recharges between cost centres
*Review and improve current monthly close processes to drive increased understanding of financial performance
*Managing the pressures of improving processes, increasing accuracy & reliability of financial information with very tight monthly deadlines
*Effective management of the overseas accounting team, reviewing and implementing new processes
Key Accountabilities:
*Review, create and Implement the Accounting reporting platform that is fit for the business and its customers
*Establish appropriate financial accounting reports which is fit for purpose and suitable for the audience to achieve organisational goals
*To ensure Accounting principles are appropriately applied to UK entities, overseas locations and for the US account submissions
*Review, create and implement a set of financial policies and procedures to ensure consistency accuracy and reliability of financial results
*Driving continuous improvement and seeking innovative solutions to complex issues across the Financial Accounting function

About You
*7+ years of Accounting or Finance Experience
*ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent) is essential
*Up to date knowledge on UK Accounting Principles
*Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
*Capable of building relationships and influencing a variety of stakeholders
*Ability and understanding of Continuous Improvement to evaluate the policies and procedures within the business
