Head of Software Engineering - Web Development / Data & Digital Solutions Due to exceptional Growth and Expansion, JRA is delighted to be assisting with the recruitment of for and experienced Head of Software Engineering to join our vibrant, innovative and passionate client in the South West. Salary will be dependent on experience. Overview Reporting to Senior Management, the successful candidate will be accountable for the successful delivery and management of project and client work the development of products and services and the architecture to support these services. This role requires proven management experience, the ability to investigate, research and solve technical challenges working closely with decision makers in other departments, identifying, recommending, developing and implementing cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the business. A high level of negotiating, influencing and communication skills are required with a successful track record of providing advice to senior management on complex issues. As Head of Software Engineering, you will lead a Software Engineering Team (comprising a combination of frontend developers, backend developers and systems administrators), pushing forward innovation and product/platform development. You will be working on several business-critical high profile projects with a view to helping improve standards and efficiency. Essential Requirements ·University degree in the field of computer science or information systems. ·4 years related work experience in a management position. ·Certifications in Scrum Master, Prince 2 or ITIL Foundation. ·Proven experience in software development and project management. ·Software design methodologies such as RAD, LD, AGILE, SCRUM, WATERFALL. ·Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. ·Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day to day management. ·Technical knowledge of PC operating systems, Linux, MYSQL / MSSQL / MARIA DB, PHP, Apache/NGINX, CSS/SCSS, JAVA, JavaScript, Angular, XML, HTML. ·In depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to IT and software development. ·Strong leadership and managerial skills. ·Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. ·Excellent understanding of security and secure design principles. Desired security qualifications (CSTP, CSTA, CAST, CRT). ·Knowledge of OWASP and the top 10 vulnerabilities against web architecture.
