PROJECT ENGINEERING MANAGER – AUTOMATED MATERIAL HANDLING SYSTEMS

THESE ROLES WILL REQUIRE WORK ON SITE WITH OUR CUSTOMERS ACROSS THE UK AND EUROPE.

Assumes the technical lead on our major projects, collaborating closely with our senior project manager and other technical leads to ensure repeatable project delivery success.



Key Responsibility Areas



As a Project Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the overall technical and system implementation of our customer’s solutions. You are responsible for ensuring the defined customer system requirements, specifications and design are effectively managed through the various engineering teams to ensure that software and electromechanical systems are fully installed and integrated successfully. You are responsible for the overall success of the technical deliverables.

To this extent this is a critical and pivotal role where you will manage and coordinate the various technical teams whilst representing and championing Leonardo during the project. You will be responsible to coordinate the technical deliveries from different specialist areas and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

As well as responsible for overseeing the delivery of our customer programmes, you may also be required to support and provide engineering input into ongoing large scale complex tenders. Working with a diverse engineering and project tender team, you will be responsible for ensuring the robustness of our overall bids to ensure order winning solutions.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required



As an experienced Project Engineering Manager you will ensure that the Leonardo solutions on behalf of our customers adhere to all technical, capacity and system performance requirements. In order to achieve this we expect you to demonstrate a broad a deep technical knowledge and a fundamental understanding of project management principles. You will have;

  • A proven track record with project engineering management related to system interfaces and system capacity performance management, preferably from an automated material handling background of comparable business.
  • BS/BA degree preferable in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a background in mechanical, electrical or process engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrable experience in managing complex projects involving conveying, processing, automation and sorting systems.
  • Are fluent in written and spoken English (additional languages are desirable and reflect our global business footprint)
  • Able to lead and motivate international technical teams
