An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Test Equipment Engineer. You will design test solutions for Leonardo Avionic Products. This will include design and development of Hardware & Software (preferably with the NI Toolset or C/CVI) through the Product lifecycle from the requirements capture through to certification and customer acceptance. This will involve liaison with internal customers, other functions within the IPT (Integrated Product Team) and engineering sub-contractors.

Key Responsibility Areas
The major duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Stakeholder requirements capture, analysis and functional design partitioning.
  • Test Solution hardware and software design.
  • Generation of engineering drawings.
  • Production of approved and configured designs plus supporting documentation.
  • Ensure that their design meets all legislative requirement e.g. LVD, EMC, RoHS, WEEE etc.
  • Integration, Verification and Validation of the test solution to stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Support the transition from design phase to in-service use.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
First or second class honours degree in Electronic Engineering or other related engineering or science subject. Applicants with suitable equivalent experience will also be considered.
Experience of the following test application software is advantageous:

  • NI Test Stand
  • LabWindows CVI
  • Labview
  • C, C++ and/or C#
  • Experience of designing test solutions for one or more of the following technologies is essential:
  • RF/Microwave/Antenna
  • Digital and/or Analogue
  • Lasers/Optics
  • Power Supplies
  • Experience of test solution development within the Avionics industry is an advantage.

Intrinsic Factors
This role is primarily office based and involves the use of computer display screen equipment. Occasional UK travel may also be required.
