We are looking for talented Materials Engineers to join our UK team based at our Yeovil site in the South West of England.

As a Materials Engineer you will support the head of the metallic or non-metallic group within the Technologies Laboratory with specialist knowledge in the use of materials, providing rapid responses in terms of materials and special processes to a variety of customers. The role includes:
- Discharging material qualification programs related to material change including test proposals, mechanical testing and reporting
- Providing technical support to the design office, together with expert advice on materials selection and process techniques
- Provide technical support to the onsite manufacturing plants, the supply chain for material design and process queries, and to the end customer including the MoD through in-service queries
- Development of test methods and material / process specifications to enhance all aspects of operations across Leonardo Helicopters


• A high degree of technical competence and preferably a degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science or Materials Engineering
• Significant relevant experience, preferably in aerospace materials
• Knowledge of the product and the MoD environment (as defined under MAA rules)
• To be self-motivated, customer focused and comfortable operating on own initiative. A high standard of communication and interpersonal skills is essential, together with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
