Communication and engagement officer/Contract/1 month/Reading/IR35

Spring technology is currently recruiting for a Communication and Engagement Officer to work with our public sector client in Reading. This requirement does fall within IR35 and is a short 1 month contract. The successful candidate is due to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will deliver a proactive and effective communications and engagement service in support of the client's strategic commitments and vision As well as working with stakeholders within and outside the organisation to deliver a service which reflects contemporary best practice.

General responsibilities include:

*Uphold and promote the values of the client, complying with the required standards of conduct, integrity and behaviour,
*Demonstrate commitment to helping the client achieve its corporate commitments and vision.
*Practise and promote the Service's policies to support the health and safety of themselves, their colleagues, and anyone else who may be affected by their actions.
*Practise and promote our policies relating to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and have an understanding of what Safeguarding means in relation to their role.
*Comply with all finance and procurement policies, procedures and practices, demonstrating the highest level of integrity at all times.
*Act in an environmentally responsible manner by minimizing pollution and the wasteful use of energy and resources.
Key skills include:
*Liaise with the media dealing with queries and supporting requests for data, pictures and information in a timely manner.

*Lead on assigned communications and engagement portfolio working collaboratively with other team members and colleagues from across the organisation to plan, deliver and evaluate effective internal and external communications and engagement initiatives which support the corporate vision and objectives.

*Manager and co-ordinate the companies social media presence, including the sourcing and frequent updating of content, monitoring of activity, evaluating impact and dealing with any customer enquiries.

*Support the planning and content management of the client's website and intranet, including training of users, editing, updating and quality assuring content, and photo editing and liaising with managers/teams to ensure content is updated.

*Prepare management and Committee reports.

*Undertake and analyse research.

*Support and promoting the brand management across all channels both internally and externally.

* Event planning and management.

*Providing assistance to colleagues/the public regarding general queries.

*Project management of communication and engagement initiatives.

*Identify opportunities to engage in new ways of working and adopt best practice in the management of communications and engagement.

*Undertake other duties within the Support Services Directorate as required
